What a reading tracker with statistics should show you
If your question is “how many pages did I read, and how many books did I finish?”, look for an app that gives you at least:
- Pages read per day, week and month.
- Books finished, with the history of every one.
- A streak or consistency measure, so you can see whether reading is becoming a habit.
- A calendar of the days you read.
- Quick logging: if recording your reading takes more than a few seconds, you stop doing it.
How LectorApp logs your pages and books
- Add the book: scan its ISBN barcode, search by title or author, or add it by hand with a photo of the cover.
- Update your page whenever you read: LectorApp works out how many pages you added.
- Finish the book and rate it: score it with ten stars and by category such as pace, characters or ending.
- The book moves to Finished reads, with its cover and your rating.
Step by step, with video: how to log your reading, reading statistics, reading streak and monthly recap.
The statistics it shows
- Totals: books finished, total pages read and your current streak.
- Weekly and monthly view: pages read each day in a chart, with the total for the period.
- Reading calendar: the days you read are marked in green.
- Monthly recap: your pages, books, best streak and active days, compared with the previous month and ready to share.
- Stacked pages: your total pages turned into a tower and compared with real things, such as the height of a person.
Keep going: streak, daily goal and reminders
Statistics only help if you keep reading. That's why LectorApp includes three habit tools:
- Daily streak: every day you log reading adds one to your streak.
- Daily page goal: you choose how many pages and watch the bar fill up to “Goal reached!”.
- Reminders: pick your time and up to five a day. They're positive: instead of nagging you, they congratulate you once you've read.
To go deeper on building the habit, read the guide to building a reading habit.
How it differs from other apps
LectorApp focuses on page-level tracking and the daily habit. If you want a social network with book clubs or friends' recommendations, see the comparison with Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
